Laminated Digests

Fantasy Reader 1

As far as I know, these are the only digest-sized books which were laminated. (Many thanks to Keith Dilbone for pointing out the second one. My copy of this book is not laminated, but it might have been "peeled" by a previous owner.) If anyone is aware of other examples of the use of lamination on digests, please let me know.

Both were printed in 1947. At that time, Avon was laminating most (if not all) of its regular mass market run of paperbacks.

AMSSM 35 has a shiny (glossy) finish, but there is no laminate. I get the impression that somebody at Avon wanted to experiment with various types of finishes during this period, but quickly abandoned such attempts ... at least with their digests.
